Adelaide Sailing Club

Adelaide Sailing Club offers competitive sailing, sailing school and function centre, with a bar and bistro overlooking West Beach. Visit Adelaide Sailing Club or phone 8294 3232 for more information.

Football Federation SA

In July 2012, through a partnership between State and Federal Governments, West Beach Parks, Green Play Australia and Football Federation of South Australia secured funding to commence the $2.2 million Football Centre project.

The West Beach Parks Football Centre is located on West Beach Road in West Beach and is Adelaide’s first synthetic football pitch. The synthetic surface is the highest quality in Australia and the infill ensures it is 30% cooler than usual synthetic pitches. The facilities include 4 team change rooms, umpire change room, first aid room, kiosk and meeting area.

The West Beach Parks Football Centre is suitable for sports like lacrosse, rugby and football (including touch football) and is perfect for hosting significant tournaments.

German Shepherd Dog Club of SA (GSDCSA)

The GSDCSA is a single breed club which accepts only pedigreed German shepherd dogs for membership. The GSDCSA provides a Recommended Breeding Practices policy and training and events in the areas of: Obedience, Agility, Show and Exhibitions.

Glenelg Baseball Club

The Glenelg Baseball Club was founded in 1931 and has been based at Anderson Reserve within the West Beach Parks precinct since 1961.

The club’s playing fields and facilities are among the few in South Australia which complies with international standards and are capable of hosting international competitions. It is a dedicated, year-round baseball facility.

There are 3 full-size grass diamonds with cut-outs, surrounded by 2 meter-high home run fence with permanent backstops. There are 2 fully enclosed netted and powered batting cages and a number of bullpens (pitcher training stations) scattered around the facility. Recent upgrades to the facility make it the standout baseball complex in South Australia.

Glenelg Lacrosse Club

Glenelg Lacrosse Club was formed in 1936 and relocated to Barratt Reserve at West Beach Parks in 1998 due to the Glenelg foreshore development.

The Seahawks have a proud history of premierships in the Men’s and Women’s State Leagues, along with other senior divisions. They also field teams from under 11 for junior girls and boys. The lacrosse season runs from April to August.

The Glenelg Lacrosse Clubrooms are also available to hire for functions.

Holdfast Bay Paddlesports Club

The Holdfast Bay Paddlesports Club is located on the Patawalonga Boat Haven at Anderson Avenue, Glenelg North South Australia. Members are predominantly involved in Sprint Racing and Marathon Racing, among other disciplines. For more information visit Holdfast Bay Paddlesports Club.

SA Sea Rescue Squadron

Located on Barcoo Road, the SA Sea Rescue Squadron is a volunteer Rescue Centre which patrols the Adelaide area on weekends and maintains radio contact with boats and base stations.

The SA Sea Rescue Squadron premises also offers two fantastic options for functions: the Barcoo Function Centre that seats up to 250 people, and the Anchorage Room that seats up to 150 people, with the observation deck overlooking the sea and towards the Adelaide Hills. Softball SA

Softball SA’s facilities at West Beach Parks include 2 fully lit and enclosed diamonds, with 13 open field diamonds and a fully licensed bar in the clubrooms. Softball SA comprises 6 associations and 34 clubs.

Surf Life Saving SA

Thanks to funding from the South Australian and Federal Governments, Surf Life Saving SA’s (SLSSA) dream of a purpose-built, modern headquarters has been realised.

“Surf Central” officially opened on the 23rd of October 2012 and is now a valued part of West Beach Parks precinct. This facility provides SLSSA and their hard-working volunteers a home base, training facilities and storage to continue their vital community services.

Sport SA

The South Australian Sports Federation Incorporated (Sport SA) was established in 1991 as the peak sports industry professional association, providing industry advocacy, training and professional support to over 155 members and affiliated bodies in the industry. West Beach Tennis Club

There are 4 public hard court tennis courts available off Military Road at West Beach Parks.

Adjacent is the SA Catholic Lawn Tennis Association, West Beach Tennis Club and Xavier Lawn Tennis Club. Members have access to 6 hard courts with lights and 8 lawn courts. Coaching, night tennis, lawn tennis, social tennis and competition team matches are all available.

Westward Ho Golf Club

Westward Ho Golf Club has a strong membership of men and women and offers annual, Junior/Student or Social Memberships. Download the membership form here — playing rights tickets are also available.
